Grounded by ALS, But Not Without Hope — Support Rob’s Fight
Story
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We are reaching out on behalf of Rob Lustman — a devoted father, husband, and beloved member of the aviation community — as he and his family face the toughest fight of their lives.
Rob has spent his career flying high, serving as a check airman with United Airlines, where he’s helped guide and mentor countless pilots. His wife, Erin Jackson, is a captain at American Airlines, and together they have built a life rooted in service, strength, and love — both in the skies and at home with their children.
Eighteen months ago, Rob began experiencing issues with his shoulder, which was first thought to be a rotator cuff injury. But after many months of uncertainty, tests, and appointments, the unthinkable happened: Rob was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) — a progressive and currently incurable neurological disease.
ALS has changed everything.
Despite the immense challenges, Rob and Erin have met this diagnosis with incredible courage, determination, and hope. They are fighting ALS with every available means — seeking the best care, participating in clinical trials, and exploring every option to preserve Rob’s quality of life for as long as possible.
As many of you know, the financial toll of ALS is staggering. Specialized equipment, home modifications, mobility aids, therapies, and eventually 24/7 care will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. All of this is in addition to the emotional and physical toll ALS takes on families.
Rob is a deeply active, hands-on, and loving father, and he’s doing everything in his power to remain present and engaged in his children’s lives. Every day, Rob wakes up with the same determination he brought to the cockpit — now focused on fighting for more time, more memories, and more moments with the people he loves.
We’re asking for your help.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly to:
• Mounting medical bills and specialized ALS treatments
• Mobility equipment and home modifications
• Daily care costs as the disease progresses
• Supporting Rob’s continued participation in experimental therapies and trials
Your generosity means more than just financial relief — it’s a show of solidarity with a family who has given so much to others. It’s a way to keep Rob soaring, even as ALS tries to ground him.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Together, we can give the Lustman – Jackson family the support they need — and the hope they deserve — in the fight of their lives.
